Quartz, an engineered man made material which contains high proportions of natural quartz, finely crushed and mixed with pigments to form solid colours or patterns. It is held together with resin but typically is more than 90% natural quartz. The mixture is vibrated to remove voids and cured with heat to produce a strong, resistant and consistent material Quartz is totally impervious, stain resistant, hard wearing and practically maintenance free so is totally suited for use in kitchens and bathrooms. Quartz tends to be more uniform in appearance than natural stones and is available in a myriad of colours.
